OxygenOS open beta 17/8 now available for OnePlus 3/3T

NEW DELHI: OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS open beta 17 and 8 for its OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones, respectively. The new versions bring same set of features to both handsets. These include several optimizations, UI improvements, new feature additions and more.

The new open builds for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T include Ambient Display 2.0, which prevents accidental screen wake ups. You can also wake the screen up with a ‘double tap’ action. The feature includes something called ‘lift up’ display, which lets you peek at the notifications without activating the entire display.Furthermore, there’s also a sharing functionality. This feature brings the ability to share the images you find in the ‘Shot on OnePlus’ section in wallpapers. In addition to new fonts, the beta build includes faster third-party app launches.

Under UI improvements, OxygenOS open beta 17 and 8 bring Gallery v1.7, Recorder v1.6, Weather v1.7, File Manager v1.7 and more, among other minor changes. Some other changes include a new setup wizard that’s adjusted to suit the UI style of Android 7.1, enhanced contact import process from SIM cards, automatic addition of corresponding country codes when making calls during roaming and Android security patch up to May 1.
