A mother waits for martyr’s ‘return’

UDAIPUR: Even two days after soldier Harshit Bhadoria laid down his life while fighting terrorists on Indo-Pak border in Kupwara, people couldn’t muster courage to convey the tragic news to his mother Jyoti in Banswara. His mother was seen praying for early recovery of her son on Sunday.

Harshit’s father Rajkumar told his wife that their son had sustained injuries and was hospitalised. The final rites are scheduled for Monday as the body was expected to reach home on Sunday late evening, family sources said.

Harshit, 23, was posted in Rajput Regiment a few months back. He had come home on a 28-day leave during the Ganesh Utsav. His mother is spending most of her time in her ‘pooja room’ praying for her son’s recovery.

At every sound of an approaching vehicle, she rushes out with a hope of getting some update about her son’s health.

A relative said, “We get highly emotional when we see Jyoti asking people to pray for Harshit’s wellbeing.” Political leaders visited Tripura Colony to console the grieving family. Harshit’s family hails from Agra; however, his father had settled here 25 years back.
