Hardik plans ‘Ganga Snan’, road show in Haridwar

Udaipur : Having attained the Gujarat High Court’s permission for a fortnight’s stay in Haridwar, Patidar quota stir leader Hardik Patel may leave for the holy city in the first week of December.

Though his aides claim Hardik plan is to take a ‘Ganga Snan’ and spend some time in peace and meditation in a spiritual environment, sources suggest his real motive is to meet the Kurmi community leaders in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the state elections, so as to take forward his fight for reservation. In Uttar Pradesh the Kurmi community corresponds to the Patidar and Patel class who are peasants and raise cattles. A road show is also in the offing and community leaders from both ends are working on a plan secretly, sources said. Hardik’s men have been co-ordinating with Akhilesh Katiyar, the national secretary of Patel Nav Nirman Sena and Bharat Patel, UP incharge who are among the main leaders there.

Having the bitter experiences from Udaipur Police which has kept him under CCTV monitoring and a criminal case for messing with toll plaza employees in Rajsamand, Hardik and his men are taking all precautions to avert such situations in Uttar Pradesh. The PAAS leader had sought permission to spend 2 months i.e the remaining time of externment in Haridwar, however, the Gujarat HC granted him just a fortnight stay. The stay has been scheduled from the first week of December. Hardik will stay at an ash ram run by Swami Deeptanand Avdhoot Memorial Charitable Trust in Haridwar.

Meanwhile, the PAAS leader plans to address a gathering in Rajkot on Sunday. “ He will speak to his people through video conferencing” informed Gehrilal Dangi, the district president of  Patel Navnirman Sena, Udaipur said.Dangi and some of his men had reached Gujarat on Saturday to supervise the arrangements. Hardik who had chosen to spend his exile term of 6 months in Udaipur in July had put up a habeas corpus petition against the Rajasthan police for keeping him under a ‘house arrest’ like condition. The Rajasthan HC granted him relief and allowed him to move anywhere within the Udaipur municipal limits with  prior intimation to the police.
