Five Students Beat Waiter To Death, Arrested

Udaipur : In a shocking incident, five highly educated students were arrested by the Udaipur police on Sunday  for beating a restaurant waiter to death. The waiter succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the hospital here. After an intense manhunt the police succeeded to arrest all the five accused. Two of them were pursuing studies in MBA while another is told to be in his final year of C.S.

The incident happened on Saturday late night  after a heated argument between the students and the restaurant staff at the New Green restaurant, situated at Surfala Kaya on the Udaipur -Ahmadabad highway. The boys who came in two cars were said to be heavily intoxicated. They were served food and afterwards when they were given the bill, the accused started abusing the manager. Lavneet Bhati, one of the student kicked one of the staff Ramesh Gameti a resident of Nathwara, at the lower part of his abdomen and later all of them fled from the scene. Ramesh who suffered severe internal injury was taken to the hospital where he died. Cops of Goverdhan Vilas police station, DySP Ranu Sharma and Additional SP Hanuman Prasad went to the spot for investigation. The police launched a manhunt and arrested the five students within the next few hours.

During initial interrogation, students informed that two of them were studying in foran  MBA course in Pune while another was a CS student. The accused have been arrested under section 302, 323 and 147 of the IPC. The two cars that were used by the accused to flee from the site have also been seized by the police.
