South Western Air Command of Indian Air Force conducted two Summer Adventure Camps at Air Force Station Mount Abu under the aegis of Air Force Wives Welfare Association (Regional) AFWWA(R), separately for boys and girls from 14-21 May 17 and 21-28 May 17 respectively.
The Adventure Camp culminated with a colourful cultural programme presented by campers during camp fire organized on 27 May 17. Air Msh RK Dhir PVSM AVSM VM ADC, AOC-in-C SWAC, IAF and Mrs Neelam Dhir President AFWWA (R) were Chief Guests for the colourful closing ceremony. Prizes were distributed to the best performers of various events by the Chief Guest Mrs Neelam Dhir.
Earlier, the Summer Camp were inaugurated by Mrs Deepti Ajay, President AFWWA (Local) on 14 May 17 for boys and 21 May 17 for girls. Campers were enthusiastic throughout the camp and participated with full zeal and josh. Adventure activities like Leap of Faith, Tent pitching, Trekking, Parasailing, Repelling, Aerobics, Yoga etc. were conducted. Boating and Horse riding was also carried out at Nakki Lake. Lectures on road etiquette, personality development and nutritional value of food were also conducted for all round development of campers.
AOC-in-C during his closing address appreciated the spirit of the campers for exhibiting unmatched enthusiasm and exhorted them to take away valuable lessons from the camp. Station Commander, AF Stn Mt Abu and other personnel with their families were present during the occasion.
