Bonanza for rural postal employess

The centre has announced a bonanza for the Grameen Dak Sewaks. The Union Cabinet has approved the revision in the wage structure and allowances of Gramin Dak Sevaks of the Department of Posts.
The revision in the wage structure would entail an estimated expenditure of Rs 1257.75 during 2018-19 benefitting 3.07 lakh Gramin Dak Sevaks.

The present 11 Time Related Continuity allowance slabs will be merged into only three TRCA Slabs. The present allowance of 2295 has been enhanced to 10000 , while those who are drawing 2745 will be eligible for 12000. The dak Sewaks who are getting 4115 will now get 14500 per month.

The new allowances will be applicable from 1january 2016 and the Dak Sewaks will be eligible for arrears as well. Annual increase at the rate of 3% and the same may be given on 1st January or 1st July of every year as the case may be.The dependants of the dak sewaks will be eligible for service on compassionate grounds in case of untimely demise.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs cleared proposal to install 3 Lakh solar street lights throughout the country. It also approved 25 lakh Solar Study Lamps in North Eastern States and Left wing Extremism affected districts.Cabinet also approved funding for the for Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark-III continuation programme consisting of ten GSLV (Mk-III) flights, at a total estimated cost of Rs. 4338.20  crores.

It Also approved the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) Continuation Programme (Phase 6)  and funding of thirty PSLV operational flights under the Programme with an outlay of 6131.00 Crores.CCEA has approved project for construction of 9.9 km long new 6 – lane bridge across river Ganga on NH – 96 at Phaphamau in Allahabad with total capital cost of Rs. 1948.25 crore.
