Udaipur: A bold and unique initiative of ‘Cycle Safari’ comprising officers and soldiers of Battle Axe Division was flagged off by Brigadier Harsh Vardan Singh, Station Commander Eklingarh Military Station from Udaipur Military Station on Monday. The team includes three officers, three Junior Commissioned Officers and 30 Soldiers of the division.
The group of Army cyclists will cover a distance of approximately 850 Kms, travelling across the major destinations of Udaipur, Jaisamand, Chittor, Rajsamand, Bhim, Haldi-Ghati, Kumbhalgarh and Gogunda. The participants will interact with the youth to motivate them to join the Indian Army and establish bonhomie with local population by interacting with ‘Ex-Servicemen’ and ‘Veer Naris’ residing in the region. The team will also spread awareness among locals on current social issues of ‘Swachh Bharat Campaign’ and ‘Save The Girl Child’. The Ten days of ‘Cycle Safari’ will terminate at Udaipur Military Station, on March 26.
‘ The Indian Army has been in the forefront in conduct of various National and International Adventure Activities that inculcates courage, dedication and esprit-de-corps. The Adventure Expeditions in the Army are carried out to prepare soldiers to overcome adversities with determination and grit’ said Brigadier Harsh Vardan Singh.
