Udaipur : In a joint venture with the Regional Transport department, Udaipur district administration has launched a campaign ‘Maa ki Saugandh’, an initiave aimed to sensitize youths on road safety and significance of wearing helmets while driving two-wheelers.

Collector BishnuCharan Mallick released a poster on Thursday which would be distributed at mass levels to spread awareness on road safety. Hundreds of people die every year in road accidents.” Many young lives are lost in road mishaps in the district and in most of the cases it has been found that the bikers didnt had proper head protection i.e they rode without helmet thus leading to instant deaths due to head injury. If mothers are determined and they bound their sons and daughters by making them swear on her head that they wont drive without helmets, kids are bound to obey” collector Mallick said. Before getting any new vehicle for their children, mother would ask them to swear on her name to ride safely and not perform any stunts on road.
