Jodhpur : In the recent forest fire at Mount Abu, the Konark Corps soldiers were all over the hills and the dales, taming the devastating feral fire. Did they stop there? No, they have traveled far since then. They not only saved the forest from being razed, but are now planting trees in large number with the Children attending Southern Command Children adventure Camp at Mt Abu.
Nearly 125 young girls and boys have once again assembled at Mount Abu, to attend their rigorous summer adventure camp, to not only test their mettle but be the Saviours of the serene hills of Abu.
The Adventure Camp was inaugurated today by Brigadier GS Reddy of KONARK Corps, with a spectacular bouquet of cultural events presented by children of the army unit at Mt Abu. The camp officials reiterated that the camp endeavours to divorce the excited campers from technology and live the 10 day long camp to its fullest. They should enjoy the bunch of fun filled adventure activities in the lap of nature, should make new friends, take new challenges to become independent and strive to be better citizens and nationbuilders.
Campers and participant of the opening ceremony were awestruck with the warm hospitality of the soldiers and the beautiful and comfortable camp created in the Jay Villas Palace Grounds. All attendees congratulated and complemented the entire organising team for flawless and meticulous organization of the adventure and environment protection camp.
