Udaipur : A class third student of a government school in a remote tribal village at Jhadol tehsil here, has lodged a complaint against his teacher for thrashing which had affected his eye sight. The child who recently underwent an eye treatment at Udaipur said the teacher had slapped him hard on face few days back for talking in the classroom and since the incident he is unable to see clearly with his left eye. However, on the other hand, the teacher claimed the boy would have sustained an eye injury of some mischief in school.
Seven year old Naresh son of one Sukhlal Vadhera was a class third student at the govt upper primary school at Khardiya village in Jhadol. According to the complaint, On December 1, Naresh was talking to his friends in the classroom during the interval. Chhaganlal Pargi, a teacher who came inside the room asked Naresh to stand up and slapped him hard on his face hurting his left eye. The child was in pain however didn’t speak out fearing punishment. He told his parents who confronted the teacher the next day. But Pargi denied to have hurt the child. Gradually Naresh whose eyes had swollen with blue marks complained of vision trouble and he had to be brought to Udaipur for treatment. On Thursday Naresh and his parents went to the Jhadole police station and lodged a complaint against the teacher for physical abuse. “ We have received a complaint from the boy. We will speak to other teachers and students to get more details on the incident” said Nanalal Salvi, the SHO.
