Safety overlooked by boaters at lakeside

With summer vacations around, large number of tourists are here for vacationing and lakes are their favorite hotspots. According to the residents, most of the time, boaters and tourists overlook the mandatory safety provisions during boating at Fatehsagar and Pichhola lake. Wearing a life jacket is a must, however, many times tourists do not pay heed to the advice, nor do the ride operators press them to follow the rules. There are no life guards appointed here to take care of people in cases of emergencies and swimmers have to be out sourced, said Paras Singhvi, a councilor of the Udaipur Municipal Corporation.
