Udaipur : In a joint operation by the human trafficking team and the child line, four child labourers were rescued from two separate units in Udaipur city on Friday. Police have arrested the employers of these two organizations who were sent to judicial custody.
“We conducted a sudden raid at a Namkeen store under Bhupalpura police station area and a Bhojanalaya at the university road under Pratapnagar police station where we found four children engaged in the task of cooking using the furnaces. These kids were made to work as early as 6 am till 11pm and were paid a meager amount as salary” Hanuwant Singh Bhati, the incharge of the human trafficking cell informed. Police has arrested Banwarilal Yadav resident of Bekani Puliya and VardiShankar resident of Payada who were sent to judicial custody. “ Two cases have been registered under section 75, 79 of the Juvenile Justice Act, the rescued children were produced before the child welfare committee (CWC) that gave them in care to an open shelter home” Harish Paliwal, a member of the CWC said.
