On Saturday morning, a dead body was found lying under a bridge in Pula area in the dried up part of Ayad river. Police reached the spot and found the body to be of that of a young boy. The face and head were so badly crushed that made it difficult for anyone to identify the body. Afterwards the body was identified as that of Mahendra son of Jeeva Meena, resident of Pula. He studied in class 3 at the government school at railway training center. The victim’s father worked as a labourer in one the marble units at Sukher industrial area who told the police that Mahendra had went out of the house on Friday evening to play with his friends and not returned home since. In the morning one their neighbours informed him that a dead body was seen beneath the bridge which looked like that of Mahendra. The family rushed to the spot and identified Mahendra by his clothes.
“ The pants was off the body and prima facie it seems a case of attempt of sexual assault” said Jitendra Anchaliya, Circle Inspector of Ambamata police station. The post mortem report revealed that the victim was killed after being hit hard on the head. According to the sources, the boy had two friends who were habitual to unnatural sex. The suspects are told to be in the age bracket of 16-17 years who were consuming alcohol on Friday evening under the bridge which is a secluded spot. Mahendra had went to meet them and perhaps struggled when he was forced to have sex with them. This could have been the reason for the murder as the victim was hit badly on his head with a large stone, police said. Later the accused also damaged his face so that he could not be identified. The police is said to have nabbed the culprits, however, official arrest is yet to be shown.
