100 Cr for Maharana Pratap Heritage Circuit in Udaipur

RSS chief dedicate Pratap Gaurav Kendra for the common

Udaipur : The union minister for Tourism and Culture Mahesh Sharma announced a grant of rupees 100 crores for development of Maharana Pratap Heritage Circuit in Udaipur. Kumbalgarh, Chavand, Gogunda and Udaipur-the historical places related to Pratap’s life would be included in the circuit to be developed as spots of special interests for tourists that will help to spread the valour of the great warrior king and his heroic deeds to people nationally and internationally, Sharma said.

  ‘There is an immense potential for tourism development in Rajasthan, that is not available even in foreign lands and hence the center would extend all support to the state to explore new avenues of tourism so as to increase livelihood opportunities and enhance the living standards of the people here’ Sharma said while addressing a mass gathering at the occasion of the dedication ceremony of the Pratap Gaurav Kendra Rashtriya Tirtha at Tiger Hill on Monday. The minister also said that the centre has granted 195 crore rupees to Rajasthan for development in the tourism sector. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat dedicated the centre and announced it open for the common. The Kendra aimed to be developed as a national pilgrim and monument in the memory of Maharana Pratap has been raised by the RSS through contributions.

The project estimate to cost around 100 crore rupees. Bhagwat in his address said Maharana Pratap’s heroism would continue to inspire generations to come. The great king and people around him had set an extraordinary example of sacrifice, love for motherland which needs to be spread to all corners of the world. A society which is exploitation free and offers equal opportunities for all is the need of the hour, Bhagwat said. Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje presided over the function. In her address, Raje said “ Rajasthan has taken lead in preservation of heritage, traditions, folk culture, and historical places.

The state government has always strived to protect and develop a panorama of iconic personalities that have been appreciated by visitors at international level”. Raje also appraised the mass of the initiatives undertaken by the Heritage Conservation and Development Authority to showcase the glorious history and cultural richness of other states in Rajasthan. Raje announced to spent 20 crore rupees for the facility of a special light and sound show at the Gaurav Kendra.
